Nicaraguan congress passes Ortega-backed reform excluding opposition from elections

The National Assembly passed a constitutional reform on Sept 1 barring opposition parties from elections and extending the presidential term, drawing a near-unanimous OAS rebuke and calls for an emergency session. The July item was Ortega saying there would be no more elections; this writes the same intent into the constitution, leaving no mechanism of lawful transfer.
